Employer Seminars
Each year, the Unemployment Insurance and Wages Division organizes informational meetings for employers. Presentations at these meetings include: Vermont Tax Department, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, Office of Child Support, Vocational Rehabilitation and VABIR, Department of Homeland Security/Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Agency of Banking, Insurance, Securities, and Health Care Authority (BISCHA), U.S. Dept of Wage and Hour, and the Department of Labor (Workforce Development, Unemployment tax and benefits, Workers Compensation, VOSHA-Project Work Safe, and Wage and Hour). We will post 2008 seminars once scheduled.

Seminar & Annual Meeting @ IBM, Essex Jct. An overview of IBM's environmental programs with a focus on the on-site treatment processes for wastewaters generated at the Essex Junction facility. June 12, 2008 - Vermont Safety & Health Council June Ergonomic Seminar at
Cabot Creamery in Cabot, VT. Come join your peers in exploring solutions to common ergo challenges at this seminar on "Practical Ergonomics on the Manufacturing Floor -- Tips, Training and Techniques from the Ergo Experts of MEMIC". The seminar starts with morning refreshments at 8:30 am, followed by the magic of Al Brown's (MEMIC)ergonomic tips and training and techniques. Al will be joined by fellow MEMIC magician, Mel Trefethen. The presentation will be followed by hands-on ergonomic assessments in the "Cut
and Wrap Dept." of Cabot. Solutions and observations will be discussed. Lunch and a Tour of the Cabot facility follow. VSHC Members FREE; non-members $10.
