                         Order of Dismissal

This matter was scheduled for a pretrial conference on July 22, 1996, notice having been mailed to the parties on June 28, 1996.  At the date and time for the conference, the employer appeared through counsel, but the claimant failed to appear.

On July 22, 1996, the claimant was notified by mail of the probable consequence of his failure to appear, and was given until August 9, 1996, to notify the Department of his reason for failing to appear and of his ongoing interest in pursuing this claim.  The claimant did not respond within the time allotted.

THEREFORE, this matter is dismissed without prejudice.
