ELIGIBILITY: Must be laid off from an employer where adversely affected workers have been certified by the federal government due to the shift of production to other countries or increased imports.
- On-the-Job Training
If you have chosen a suitable occupation and are unable to get a job in that field, On-the-Job training might be for you. It is designed to help you obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed and perform successfully on the job. You are hired by the employer and DOL pays the employer a percentage of your wages during the training period.
- Customized Training
Training for specific jobs at a specific worksite.
- Classroom Training
This school-based training is designed to help you gain the occupational skills needed to perform a specific job.
- Remedial Training
Basic skills or life skills trainingneeded to help you get a job.
- Trade Readjustment Allowances
Up to 104 weeks of cash payments may be available for eligible workers enrolled in full-time training.
- Health Insurance Coverage Assistance
Tax credits up to 65% of an eligible participant's monthly health insurance premium for up to 2 years.
- Job Search Allowance
For the costs of a job search outside the local area.
- Relocation Allowance
For the costs of relocating to a job outside the local area.
